I love to receive email however there is nothing quite like a hand written note that arrives by post. Call me old fashioned but I think the two don’t compare!

For that reason I have had 10000 post cards printed which I want to give away totally free of charge.

Rael Gough `Together we are beautiful`
Joint Project

Raels work caught my eye when I called into his Bolton gallery. Amongst his many fans is singer/song-writer Badly Drawn Boy! Rael creates visually stunning abstract art often on a very large scale. It is refreshing and inspiring to see someone so young having the drive and ambition to make a name for himself. I love the way light changes his art from one minute to the next. Placed in natural light at the front of his studio a painting will change as the light moves across it. To me it’s like owning several pieces in one.

We decided to work on a joint project! His painting `Together we are Beautiful` is a colourful work which I think lends itself to being reproduced on a live model. With that in mind we are looking for both a male and a female who are prepared to shave their head bald in the name of art. I’m sure the male will not be a problem, but for this to really work I feel the female needs to be breathtakingly beautiful and also brave!

Finding such a model may prove difficult but she’s out there somewhere.

Stunning M&S girl Noemie Lenoir shaved her head in 2006 for the film Rush hour 3. And Sinead O’Connor revelled with her naked scalp in the eighties.

A short film will be produced alongside head shots which will be made into a very limited number of prints signed by the models, Rael and I. Fees are by negotiation and the project will take place in my studio.

Photography is by no means just about my work. The pleasure I get appraising other photographers images is almost tangible. I spend many hours surfing the net getting inspired or simply admiring great work. I look up photographers whose images I see in magazines on a weekly basis. The more people can share these wonderful images the better. Its taken me twelve months but for this reason I introduce a guest gallery in which you can view some breathtaking work by some exceptional photographers.
