In his speech Josh did not get his words 100% correct, he said I don’t like weddings ! Not strictly true I love a good wedding but I am not to keen on photographing them. Photographers tend to specialise, sport, portrait or even weddings, doing the same type of work day in and day out you have a routine and know the job inside out. Having officially photographed just two weddings I do find it difficult and very stressful.
Paul knight was one of my best mates and Jaqui remains a big pal, it was only for this reason that when asked to produce a photographic record of this wedding I accepted the challenge. I spend many hours researching wedding photography and spent the two days prior to the big day visiting the Church, Cooling Castle and meeting with Liz and Greg. I was as prepared as I could be!
I am pleased with the results, post production took forty two hours that’s editing, cropping touching up and putting the images on the web! Unfortunately the original plan to get an hour producing reportage style images during the champagne reception did not fall into place. I did however get a good hour at Church before the ceremony and the bridesmaids made great subjects, especially photogenic were the two small girls. We also ran out of time before the meal to record school and university friends with Josh and Alex. Captured later with flash to me these images just don’t compare to the formal group shots taken in the natural afternoon light.
There are three albums, the official collection, a group of additional images which I feel are not good enough for the main album but too good to miss and my selection. These images are duplicate and are what I consider to be the best images from a photographer’s point of view.
My wedding present to Josh and Alex capturing there big day represents over a weeks work ! therefore I won’t be dealing with prints. If you require a hard copy of any images call Bolton Colour lab. They will supply you professional hand finished prints which will be mounted on a back board to prevent rippling. Please don’t confuse these prints with other high speed and automated printers. BCL produce quality hand finished prints of exceptional quality. Digital files are not available.
