Photography by David Price

David strongly believes that the perfect image is rarely achieved, and that the success of a shot should be measured against the distance it falls short of perfection. However David’s favourite aspect of his work is people’s reaction to it, often giving him more satisfaction than payment for the job. He strongly believes that whether a commercial assignment or a commission for portraiture the idea behind the image is paramount, and will often spends as much time coming up with an original idea than on the shoot itself. To strive for the perfect image can be exhausting but the journey it creates provides the ultimate thrill and life long learning.

A successful property developer he now spends most of his time working in photography. A large percentage of this time is spent working on commercial projects and stock. His great passion however is portraiture. It’s the one aspect of photography that he will never tire of. Every human being is different and unique. The skill is to get the best out of an individual at one point in time. There are often obstacles in your way but when everything comes together the result can be breathtaking.

David uses Canon 1DS mk 2 and Mamia 645 medium format with Phase one P30 digital back. Most commercial work is shot using digital as clients can view images in an instant and produces more cost effective results. Travel is a big part of his art.
